Crochet pear scarf? Can I buy this or make it?
http://shanalogic.com/point.php?item_id=2 120&manufacturer_id=266
It's super cute. I want to learn how to crochet, so if I do would this be kind of easy?
it's 150.00 bucks. Do you certain if anyone else sells something like this?
Thanks!
I muse on you could easily make this as a beginner.
These pears look like they are made in two panels, a white one for the front and a green one for the back. The two pieces are then edged together to get rid of the shape. The pears are worked in rows, with decreases or increases at the end of each row to create the shape.
This is not something you should be doing if you're new to crocheting, it'd be tractable to mess up and get frustrated. If you'd like to try and have someone make it, I suggest going to www.etsy.com
There is a section called Alchemy. Do a profile and put up a request for this. You'll get tons of people putting up bids for your item. You can easily have someone customize it to fit your trend, and ultimately find a cheaper maker.

Well, of advance, it's easy. But you need to know how to crochet first, and you are not going to make this as a first project! It takes a long time and lots of routine to get good enough to do this. Why do you think they are charging $150 for it??
Take some lessons first with crochet to see if you might like it. Then do a lot of practice pieces until you learn how to do shapes, and then undertake this one.

Church project has more scarves than recipients
GALLOWAY – Volunteers at Peace Lutheran Church here and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon are preparing to send about 200 scarves to local service men and women overseas.
The dedication of the scarves will held at the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Nov. 4. They are due to be shipped a couple of weeks after that.
One problem: They only have two local servicemen in Afghanistan, the target country.
Normally they would send between 10 and 20 scarves to each service person, asking them to share with their companions in combat.
“Sending each of them 100 scarves is a little much,” said Joanne Heckman of Peace Lutheran. “We chose Afghanistan because the winter is cold there.”
The scarves are sent with letters telling the recipients how much people on the home front appreciate all that they do and include a hymn “Praise to the Lord the Almighty.”
“There are some organizations that would include our scarves in their mailings, but they won't allow us to include anything religious, and we do want the men and women to know that we are praying for them,” Heckman said. “We will be mailing them out shortly before Thanksgiving; after Thanksgiving the mail volume increases and takes longer to get to foreign countries.
The group gets apple and pear boxes from Santori's produce store because they are free and make great shipping boxes, according to Heckman.
“We always need additional money to mail the boxes and purchase packing tape,” Heckman said. “Linda Liston, our new coordinator, will be there.”
The military contact list comes from family and friends of those serving, Heckman said, adding that the sources haven’t necessarily dried up.
“Sometimes we have more people serving in the military than other times,” Heckman said. “I guess we have fewer people over there. At least that is what our government is saying.”

Shabby Style
The prongs of the pass brad are through the slum of the tag and the crochet bow, then splayed separately from – I assume I could have punched a predicament and splayed it behind the panel, but it would have gone through the Pear ribbon and gooey peel off, so I... The Pear ridge binding is done by decent scrunching it down onto a seize of viscous swath. I adhered the DSP to the bottom dispense of the panel and then sponged the edges – starting off the panel and working in a disc-shaped motion. One detail I in fact like about the new First Version DSP (SU 2011 Occasions Mini) is that the same think up is on the back as the front (but in a way that you end up with a unalike administer of the same arrangement). After fixing up the sentimentalism view label and adhering it to the vanilla panel, I betrothed the whole item to the Atom Gateau fix. I stamped the image multiple times on the Vanilla panel. This plan is raggedy chic – not a kind I do conclusively, but still, it is fun to do something sundry sometimes.
